When You Are Who You Are
We have just started work on a brand new studio album, 'When You Are Who You Are.' Wanted to get back to the original 'righteous soul' of 'Not Too Busy To Hate,' inspired by Curtis Mayfield, Gil Scott-Heron etc. A more organic, jazzier sound.
Also feel the need to address the serious issues in the world again, via the lyrics. What's the point of being an artist if you don't do that?
The plan is to release it simultaneously with '20 Golden Greats' sometime early next year. Maybe you'll be interested in both!?
